Petroleum Engineers Inaugurate NIPetE

The Geographical zones of the Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers NIPetE, have been inaugurated.

The inaugural ceremony of the institution which is a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, was performed by the National Chairman of NIPetE, Engr. Prisca Kanebo.

The event was held at the NSE building, Lagos.

While Engr. Obidike Nelson Uzu was inaugurated as the Pioneer Zonal Coordinator, South-South, Prof. David Ogbe was inaugurated as the Pioneers Zonal Coordinator, Diaspora.

Engr. Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Nwogu, Engr. Adebowale Orekoya and Engr. Elijah Bokizibe were inaugurated as the Pioneer Zonal Coordinators of South East, South West and FCT/Northern States respectively.

In her remarks, Engr. Kanebi highlighted the significance of repositioning the Engineering landscape with the onboarding of the Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers.

“Engineering as we all know remains one of the longest existing professions and the most powerful organ in the world, but a glance at many professions in the Country will show the need for us to have the Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers,” she said.

She charged the Pioneer Chairmen to be alive to the onerous responsibility of mid-wifing the institute in the various geographical locations.
